Coffee Morning

I recently held a coffee morning at my local Methodist church. Friends and family baked lots of tasty cakes and treats for us to sell and local businesses provided us with prizes for our raffle. We made a total of £115! A bid thank you to everyone who attended and donated.

The Oppurtunity of a Lifetime

My name is Megan and I have been given the opportunity to go on a 4 week expedition to Borneo in the Summer of 2015. But, to get there I need to raise £4000! I'm a bit late in the game starting this blog as my fundraising started about 6 months ago but we still have a way to go and I will be uploading past events as I want to document every moment of this amazing experience.

Whilst in Borneo I, along with a team of school friends and possibly others I have not yet met, will be working to improve the quality of living for the locals. We will be working on community projects, teaching the children and in general helping out! Conservation is another big part of the expedition so we will be visiting the Sepilok orang-utan sanctuary and travelling along the Kinabatangan (wow that's a mouthful) river to spot more amazing wildlife.

It isn't often opportunities such as this come up in life so when they do it is important to grab them with both hands and I am very grateful for the hard work and support of all of my family, friends and generous people out there who are helping me get to Borneo.
